Mechanical Fitter / Technician
Milton Keynes

Electron-X are looking for a reliable Mechanical Fitter with suitable qualifications, hands-on engineering experience and in-depth understanding of mechanical production processes and electro-mechanical equipment.

This is an exciting role within a talented team, with plenty of opportunity for personal and career development.

You must be highly motivated and keen to develop your skills and experience on a wide range of industrial x-ray equipment.

Mechanical Fitter / Technician - The role will involve:

Assembly of composite lead-ply panels for x-ray shielding
Cutting, shaping, fitting parts and assemblies
Preparation, painting, packing parts and assemblies
Installation of steel framework, composite panels, doors and parts for the x-ray room
Managing stocks of spare parts and equipment

Mechanical Fitter / Technician - You should have:

An engineering qualification C&G, BTEC Level 3, NVQ, etc
Experience of using hand and power tools and workshop machinery
Ability to understand engineering drawings
Good understanding of general health and safety.
Good communication skills
Ability to learn fast and a willingness to take on new skills and responsibilities
Full clean driving license
IPAF, CSCS or equivalent site passes preferred (but not essential)

Electron-X designs, constructs and installs industrial x-ray facilities, including x-ray rooms and x-ray cabinets. Specific experience in the x-ray sector is not required (training will be provided), but previous engineering or technological background is essential.

The role is based at our office in Milton Keynes, with some sitework. Standard working hours are 38 hours a week, normally between 8am-4pm Mon-Fri.
