Roxhill ( is a media database, launched in 2013 with a vision to disrupt the Public Relations communications sector. Over 8 years we have built a real-time, data-led media intelligence platform. This gives PR and media professionals the tools and insight to understand where in the media industry, their brands or products are being discussed and to engage and develop mutually beneficial relationships with key figures.

Whats next?

Roxhill now has over 1,400 Blue chip and corporate clients within the PR industry, generating an annual turnover in excess of £6m. It has grown to 50 staff based in a WeWork (Bank) office in London, and with this rapid growth comes the need to scale up our financial operations. In addition to this role the team consists of the Financial Controller and Credit Controller.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our small in-house finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience of ownership of a sales ledger looking to use their knowledge and experience in a growing business. You will be supported by our Credit Controller and Finance Controller. You and the Credit Controller will be the point of contact for all sales ledger queries from internal & external stakeholders. Working with the sales and client management teams, you will ensure clients are invoiced in a timely manner and outstanding debts collected. You will also take ownership of the purchase ledger ensuring all invoices are on Xero in a timely fashion. You will gradually become familiar with the whole finance process within the company, thereby this role gives great exposure up to and including trial balance. You will also have the opportunity to develop, implement & update processes alongside the Finance Controller

This role sits within a pivotal department in Roxhill not only to our clients, but also internally to all teams from senior management through to client facing sales team and account managers.
This is a key role within the finance team, as a growing business you will be responsible for our ever-increasing invoicing, sales ledger and supporting the Financial Controller with month end and quarterly responsibilities. You will be good communicator who is adept at building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.

Your specific responsibilities:

Invoicing duties ensuring all sales invoices are raised timely and correctly
Sales and purchase ledger management Ongoing management via Xero
Become a super user of our invoicing software, Saas Optics and become the go-to for training in order to update and train wider finance team and other colleagues
Banking Reconciliations
Liaise with external stakeholders suppliers and creditors
Liaise with colleagues and department heads regarding financial queries
Supporting the Finance Controller with month-end and quarterly reports and processes. Closing each month to ensure accurate record keeping of Roxhill trading positions. Leading to exposure to balance sheet recs, fixed asset schedules and prepayment schedules.

What skills, experience and attributes are we looking for?

GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or higher) - required
AAT level 2+ or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good MS Excel and Word ability
Advanced Business Financial knowledge
Xero Financial software user or similar
Capable of working independently, using initiative and managing own time effectively, to prioritise key tasks and deliver on deadlines
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
Communicate clearly and in a professional manner with work colleagues and clients
Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
Team-player with a can do attitude
Organised and detail-oriented to all tasks
Experience with sales ledger & purchase ledger is a must
