Director of Governance & DPO - About the Role:

As the Director of Governance & DPO, you will hold a senior position within the Corporation, reporting directly to the Chair of the Corporation for governance matters and the Principal & CEO for data protection responsibilities. This unique, stand-alone role requires a highly professional individual with the capability to promote and uphold the highest standards of governance and data protection within the organisation.

Director of Governance & DPO - Key Responsibilities:

Governance:

Provide independent advice on legal and ethical issues affecting the Corporation.

Prepare Board agendas, minutes, and action plans.

Ensure the Corporation operates within its legal powers and evaluate its governance effectiveness.

Data Protection:

Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.

Develop and maintain data protection policies.

Manage data breaches and handle FOI requests.

Director of Governance & DPO - What Were Looking For:

A relevant degree or professional qualification.

Experience in governance and knowledge of data protection legislation.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to provide unbiased, impartial advice.
